Ruth Baron Ezra

Ruth Ezra
Ruth has been producing her intricately styled pencil drawings over a number of years now, since she was a student. But it is only lately that she has been able to devote more time to her art, returning to this finely detailed method of drawing as well as creating new colour work. She now takes part in exhibitions on a regular basis. Having moved to Hampshire recently, she is increasingly drawn to the riches of Test Valley wildlife as a source of inspiration, and her art can often be seen to reflect this.

Ruth studied Art and Design for a B.Ed (Hons) degree at Wall Hall College in Hertfordshire from 1975 -79, specialising in painting and drawing. During the 1980's she had a number of teaching jobs in the London area in schools, home tutoring, special needs and 2nd language teaching, always using art widely in her teaching.

In 1992 she studied at Goldsmith's College, University of London where she gained an M.A. in History of Art of the Modern Period. She taught History of Art during the 1990's running a variety of courses for Artscope and at Adult Education classes in Kent. She has also written on art, and helped in setting up the Turner Centre project in Kent where she provided the initial research on Turner's connections with Kent.
